Cookie & Local Storage Policy

1. Current position

TAP does not intentionally deploy advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural trackers. Optional first-party anonymous journey metrics are default-off and are enabled only after you choose “Allow anonymous metrics”. Essential service, authentication and security technologies continue to operate independently of that choice.

2. Essential authentication and security

Base44, the application platform used to operate TAP, may use authentication/session technologies needed to sign users in, maintain secure sessions and protect the service. These technologies are necessary to provide an authenticated service requested by the user.

3. TAP interface preference cookie

TAP sets a sidebar_state cookie for up to seven days to remember whether the navigation sidebar is open or closed. This is a user-interface preference and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. Browser storage

TAP uses browser storage for limited product functions:

• Health check session storage: the tap_health_check session value temporarily holds progress, answers and the server-scored result during the free health-check journey. After completion it remains only for the current browser tab/session so the result can be displayed or refreshed; it is removed when you retake/reset the health check, when the tab/browser session ends, or when browser session storage is cleared.
• Billing-period preference: local storage may remember whether monthly or annual pricing was selected so that the pricing and trial journey can preserve that choice.
• Anonymous journey-metrics preference: local storage records whether you selected “Allow anonymous metrics” or “Essential only”. This preference can be changed later using the Privacy choices link in the public footer.
• Anonymous journey session: only when metrics are allowed, session storage holds a random UUID under tap_public_funnel_session. It is used to correlate public pricing, health-check and checkout journey events within the browser session and is removed if you switch to Essential only or clear session storage.
• Application/session configuration: the underlying application may store technical session/configuration values necessary to operate the signed-in experience.

5. Payment services

When you choose to use checkout or billing-management features, Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies for payment processing, fraud prevention, security and service operation. Stripe's own notices govern its use of those technologies.

6. Your choices

You can change anonymous journey metrics at any time using the Privacy choices link in the public footer, or clear cookies, local storage and session storage through your browser. Choosing Essential only removes the journey session identifier. Removing necessary authentication or service-preference data may sign you out, reset an in-progress health check or remove remembered preferences.

If TAP introduces a technology that requires consent under applicable privacy/electronic-communications rules, it will not be treated as strictly necessary merely because it is useful to us. A suitable consent mechanism will be introduced before that technology is enabled.
